Life, Travel, etc.

Oh, it has been one hell of a busy and eventful month! I can safely say, I have never made so much progress in a month, ever, before, not counting the hours studying for all my Civil Engineering subjects just the night before the end-sems, though.

  • I have travelled to a LOT of places at a short notice:
    • Om Beach, Gokarna: Amazing place. I have so much to write, pictures and all. Sometime soon.
    • Hampi: Was good and bad thrown in. The people have been corrupt. Simplicity gone. Beauty of the ruins intact. I will write more about it (pictures and all), later.
    • Hyderabad: Booked tickets 2 hours prior to the bus departure. Phone ran out of charge, so couldn't contact any of the Hyderabadi friends. Met someone pretty well informed who turned out to have excellent insights in to the corporate world as he is/was a CEO of a company till a few weeks back.
    • Kalaavarahalli Betta: Official offsite of the engineering team. Good trip.
  • I am soon to be one on the board of directors of a community paper. Actually, I already am, I just have to finish some papers to be lawfully so. It is being helmed by the father-in-law, btw.
  • Something EXTREMELY interesting in store. None owing to my capabilities, but I am nothing, but looking forward to it. Its gonna be RICH!

Hyderabad

So, on Friday at 7PM we booked our bus tickets to Hyderabad for the same night 9.30PM. Came home and booked the return flights for Sunday evening on Cleartrip. Luckily got a Kingfisher. Quickly packed some clothes and essentials and then we hit the road!

Of course, I forgot to carry the cellphone charger, so there was no way I could contact the friends there, but it proved to be an asset!

We were lucky to find a room at Yatri Niwas, which is the best location I could ask for.

On Saturday, I took Swamy to all my favorite places sans Pramati :) :(

We went for lunch at TDS and one of the stewards actually recognized my after all these years! 2.5 yrs and so many customers later, he did, so I was obviously flattered. Gleefully had my favorite Thai Chicken Curry with Rice + Soup + Dessert + Fruit Sangria, Chicken Pepper Steak + Beer + 2 Long Island Tea for Swamy and we were a happy couple indeed! Of course, I bored him with all my stories from my days at Pramati and the significance of TDS.

Since we were running short on clothes, we made a quick trip to Lifestyle. Then I took him on an auto ride across Somajiguda-Panjagutta-Jubilee Hills, pointing out the favorite parks and places. Gallopping Gooseberry's and Kahwa are gone, but the pleasure of looking at the places isn't :)

Took him to Hussain Sagar, Eat Street and we got ourselves temporarily tattooed. A Pegasus on my collarbone and a Phoenix on his right arm.

Rounded a happy day with a wild evening at Bottles and Chimneys.

I love Hyderabad!

Kalaavarahalli Betta

Our VP of Engineering was visiting us, so we went for this offsite. Good fun, but I would have done much better if I were 10 kgs lighter! No more carbs for dinner. Nope!
