Once and For All 1/?
"Jesus, Dad, watch it," Henry yelled, ducking to avoid the projectile aimed at his head.
Viggo looked up, startled to see his son standing in the doorway of their kitchen.
"Henry? What are you doing here? I thought you had already left for your mother's house."
"I did," Henry said, bending over to pick up the magazine that had nearly hit him. "I forgot something. What did this ever do to you," he asked wryly, holding up the offending publication. Henry leafed through the magazine, quickly discovering what it was that had set his father off. "Oh," he said, his voice softening.
"Yeah, oh," Viggo grunted. He didn't have to look at his son for him to see the distress on his face.
"So, what are you going to do about it," Henry asked, dropping the magazine into the nearest trash can.
Viggo sighed heavily. "Noth....no dammit, I *am* going to do something about it. Henry, do you mind staying a few extra days with Exene," he asked, his mind whirling as he realized what he was about to do.
"Of course not, Dad," Henry replied. He walked over to his father and gave him a hug. "Go do what you need to do."
"Thanks, Hen," Viggo told his son, giving him a quick kiss on the forehead before he squirmed out of his grasp. "I'm going to put an end to this bullshit."
Viggo quickly packed a bag, then called Karl to let him know that he wouldn't be able to make his premiere that night after all. His friend was more than understanding, reassuring Viggo that he wasn't upset and wishing him the best.
Three hours later, Viggo looked out of the airplane's window, sighing as he took a sip of his drink. He knew the ridiculous situation was his own fault. Orlando had told him over and over that he didn't care what anyone thought about him, or his relationship with Viggo. But Viggo had insisted that they keep their budding relationship a secret, purely out of concern for his young lover's career. He knew Orli was going to be a big star and loved him too much to get in the way of that. Orli had argued and pleaded, but in the end, he did what Viggo asked and went off to start another film when their time in New Zealand came to an end.
They had tried to see each other as often as possible, but it was becoming more and more difficult as Orlando's star rose. Finally, Orli's PR team had suggested using a beard, a young actress who needed the publicity that would come with being attached to someone like Orlando. More arguing had taken place before Orli finally gave in and said he'd do it. Now, Viggo was regretting the fact that he'd pressured Orlando into doing something so stupid. But enough was enough and the last round of pictures and the idiotic article that went with them had sent Viggo over the edge. He was going to set things right, once and for all.
