I am a self-admitted girl; I like pretty smelling things. I want some way to scent my home without resorting to the terrible chemical-smelling crap in the grocery store aisle (Glade, Airwick, you know who you are.)
Candles are not a good option because I am easily distracted and also the fire alarm in my tiny hovel goes off when one of the gnats in my windowsill so much as breaks wind.
Incense is okay, but even the expensive shit still smells like something has been burnt.
Essential oils are an option I am looking at, but the crappy overpriced hippie store wants anywhere from $10 to $20 a bottle for the oils themselves plus $15 for the plug-in diffuser (Thanks, aromatherapy morons. I actually saw a mix of oil there intended to prevent scars from forming. I have been known to believe some pretty stupid shit but come on.) Also the age of the compact fluorescent lightbulb has rendered the old lightbulbe ring diffusers useless.
On the plus side, if I got the diffuser and oils, it would only take like 5 drops to make a whole room smell nice, so it would probably last me years. Also I could mix and match scents pretty easily. And if I ever got back into making wild herbal ointments and balms again, peppermint and shit are good for making them smell nice.
Anyone have any better ideas?
