Apparently I can only think of things to post about when I'm grumpy.
Yesterday I stopped to pickup the mail down on the main road and discovered with quite a bit of surprise that our group mail boxes (one group of individual boxes and a second pillar for large parcels) had been consolidated into one sleek new pillar (with a total of one less large parcel boxes). Very handsome. But the locks are all different.
Called the post office. They also sounded slightly surprised but said I would need to call back today before 9 am to talk to "Dave" who seems to be the guy who does the installs and changes locks on mail boxes. Fast forward to this morning. It turns out the district sent out the new pillar without sending the keys, so for some indefinite period our mail will be held at the post office and we'll just have to keep driving into town to pick up our mail until the magic moment when the new key appears in our mail bundle.
Add to this that we're in the throes of packing for the second book/comic show in two weekends and we woke up to snow again this morning. On a happier note, the drive is not covered with snow, the network is operating properly, and we have most of the boxes packed for the show. And so far, the hovering head colds have not landed.
To end on a lighter note, a little yarn pr0n showing how my spinning has progressed. 15 oz of BFL from
JulieSpins in her gorgeous colorway Autumn Glory.
And singles of
Enchanted Knoll Farm's sparkly Rough Cut Diamonds.
Fiber is a wonderful calming agent.
And a Stellar Jay just flew past my window with a beakful of dried leafy material, so clearly spring IS coming and nests are in order, snow or not.
