But poking my head out of the hole anyway to realize it's been nearly a month since my last post...
The snow has melted, the daffodils are in bloom, the lilac bushes are starting to bud (well-sprayed with deer repellant so we might get a few blooms this year) and we STILL aren't unpacked from the two book fairs in February. But really, working on it. Between sock projects. Having fallen madly in love with the gorgeous yarns from Enchanted Knolls Farm (Etsy is a dangerous place) I now have a half dozen skeins awaiting projects. I've finished two pairs for B, one for me, half a pair for my virtual s-i-l and just cast on for my father's belated birthday socks, which I'll tack down to him next week. Also proceeding with B's pullover (body completed, first sleeve under construction and my winter white alpaca guernsey (back nearly completed). The Viking cable pattern from hell awaits warmer weather as the wool silk blend is reasonable to knit in hot weather, unlike the fluffier wools.
I've lined up lots of DVDs to watch but am sadly behind as we keep being distracted by obscure movies on the DVR. For example, I didn't know Ingrid Bergman starred in a B&W version of "Aimez-Vous Brahms", blandly renamed "Goodbye Again." and after watching an hour of it and trying to figure out what her character was supposed to see in a boringly womanizing Yves Montand (never cracking a smile) and Tony Perkins at his very youngest, wecouldn't bear to go on to the end.
I have managed to resign from the book co-op, leaving B to manage half the space on his own there...he makes money, I don't and the store politics are too much like working in an office, so I'm relieved and he should be fine. I make my living on line and at fairs, so wasting my time and money there was getting too irritating.
Aside from the knitting frenzy, I've been drowsy and lazy all month, barely able to do more than bare maintenance on the database, skimming the flist, and obsessing over the Lupercalia BPAL scents...this obsession may be fading a bit at last. Or not. Planning on going to Will Call next week as part of the visit to the Aged P., so that will either revive the madness or calm me down. And a nice visit to the old chums in San Diego will be an additional treat. Mmm. Dim sum lunch and/or the best taquitos in SoCal are also signing their siren song...
Anway, energy seems to be returning with the spring-like weather, and next month brings a trip to Ashland for the plays (and possibly a quick visit with
rainkatt) and NO book fairs. I may actually get some reading done too.
In a final cheering note, the first tulip of the three pots is opening a pink bud today!
