I'm here, just busy.
Howdy all,
Been a spell since I posted so I figured I had better check in. I've been very busy as I now work two jobs -- I picked up a library gig to help pay for my Civil War hobby -- and work basically 7 days a week. It's not as bad as it sounds, and I really think my future career is in the realm of an MLS.
Speaking of Civil War stuff, my little group just had a living history here in Missouri and I was trying to post a photo or two of the event. Sadly LJ makes you pay for such luxuries and I am a cheapskate. If you have a longing to see me in Civil War garb, send me an e-mail

While I have been out of the loop a bit, I do know the Sabres screwed the pooch in the Conference finals. I thank you all for not mentioning it, especially Dieter as it must have been hard not to. At the end of the day it was depressing to see them lose, but not really a big surprise. I'm still damn proud of the year they put together in spite of having no real stars on the team.
So now it's all about the World Cup. I've done some solid research and my pick to win all the garbonzos is.....Argentina???? Sorry VB, England is quality, but I think Argentina is one of those teams that will surprise a few people. Of course I'm a Buffalo fan so what the hell do I know about sports. Who do you guys think will win it all???
And finally I need to ask a favor from all my B&N friends. At my library I'm in charge of the YA section and let me tell you, it needs all the help it can get. I was wondering if one or all of you could help me round up a few floor displays or posters or something to help me spruce up the joint. I would pay for the shipping to get them here and maybe a little sumthin, sumpthin for you. It will all be coming out of my pocket, so I'm not trying to get crazy here, just trying to give the teens a place of their own. So if you guys see something heading out in the trash you think your bro Rick could use, please set it aside and give me hey howdy.
