id miss those lovely days of summer..

Alright, so i take back pretty much everything i bitched about back in the beginning of june, and ill admit that yes, i probally had the best summer ive ever had. Ive never had such a good time with so many different people, and gotten so close with so many of them. This year im determined to actually keep in contact with most of them.

Two months flew by. I honestly can think of stuff that happened during first session, and its hard to believe that it was 5 weeks ago. The hikes were actually really good, the kids overall werent horrible, and to make up for anything that wasnt great, there were the people there. People at camp are just different. I was talking to my friend Kristen there, and we both were saying how at home people just dont go out of their way for you. At home, if you need someone to do something for you, they act like its such a big deal for you to ask, or people dont think to go out of their way to call or just be extra nice. At camp, maybe its because youre only with these people for such a short time, but they are always going above and beyond. LIttle things like people helping you put away your tents even after they put all 3 of theirs away, or bringing you cocoa coffee all the way across camp at 1130 because you have nightwatch.

so i cant get enough of it, and im going back to hang out this friday, sleeping over, then going home again, to return one week later. seriously though, where can you become friends with people ages 16 to 23, dress up like a pirate and farmers without it even being questioned(while the guys are dressed up, or lacking in clothing so they can be bikers or body builders).

just to reminisce, there was talk about motes, much ping pong and nintendo played, 2 canoe hikes, spooning with a minimum of 3 people on rainy cold hikes to stay warm, late nights out, van trips, sneaking out at 2 in the morning, binging on food at all hours of the night, phone calls breaking up, many hours spent in the staff lounge during free swim, singing on top of your lungs, cheering mmmahh and coconut until you just cant take it anymore, the best dances youll ever go to, the most cramped meals youll ever eat, sketchy kitchen staff, fireworks in tall pines, archery class, freezing cold swim class, sliding down the sledding hill while its pouring holding hands, swimming in the creek, pimping out the outback(kiddie pool included),late night camp fires in the jr. boys unit, taps every night, and the best night sky youll ever see- just to name a few.

it was so wierd saying goodbye to everyone, especially because the majority of them werent leaving for good. im glad ill be there for the last day for most peopple though, because then ill be able to get a formal goodbye to everyone. im such a dork, i stayed at camp til like 830 friday so that i could just hang out and stretch my time there as long as possible. this is where i just have to make mention of jason forman, since he did put me in his lj. yeah, you liberal. i could school you at tetris if i really wanted too...
so ive had my last taco chaco at camp, canoe race, night watch, and beach party.. possibly ever. not cool. who knows, maybe i will go back next summer. its looking more and more likely.

well im going to the cape tomorrow, so ill post all my pictures, probally in groups, when i get home! ill be home saturday.

ciao.
