Maryland was excellent. The band left Friday morning at 8. We got to miss Friday's classes! Suureeeeee. With only one stop halfway, we arrived around 5:20 in Towson at Towson University. We watched their band practice. Then the pit unloaded the truck (my favorite) and we set everything up for our practice. A lot of students came to watch us actually. We got done around 10:30. We loaded the truck and got to bed around midnight.

Bed. Interesting that I describe sleeping on a hard wooden gym floor with nothing more than a sheet and my backpack as bed. I was selected to wake up at 530 so that we could drive an hour to Annapolis to unload the truck. I got all of about two hours of "sleep". Waking up was easy since I felt awake. After the rigors of trying to pass through security armed with M-16's we unloaded and took a look around the Navy stadium. It was beautiful. The government knows how to build a stadium. I met a lot of "midshipmen" as students are called in the USNA. It was nice talking to them.

The game was hot. Here I am in 90 degree weather, full sun exposure, wearing a tuxedo. Hmm.. HOT HOT HOT. The game went well. We only loss by a point. The halftime and post game performance was good. We played well. We loaded up at some pizza and left for home around 6. I got home at 3 Sunday morning. Unloaded and trekked up the stupid hill with my heavy bag, half asleep. Twelve hours later. Im doing homework. This week could possibly kill me. Inundated with reading and nothing for homework scares me because I am more responsible for retaining everything I read. oh yea, my comprehension sucks. So we'll see how far that gets me.

Going away this weekend was weird. We were eight hours away from home. Home is Umass for me. It doesnt feel like it at all. So going away didnt feel like being away. It just felt like another place. It felt like the next town over from the university. I just need to spend more time here until amherst feels like home.

Attention: Mr Rossi and Mr Jost will be attending the football game around 700 at McGrath Stadium on the 15th of September. You've been warned.
