Wow, it's been a long time since I updated. Anyway, last Saturday I got to conduct the Mobile Symphony! They were playing at the ArtsAlive! fest in Cathedral Square and in the middle of the concert, Mr. Speck gave the audience a crash course in conducting. Then he asked for 4 volunteers between the ages of 6 and 16 to try their hand at conducting. I ran up there, and three other little kids (they were about 7 or 9) came too. We each got to conduct a few bars of Sousa's "Semper Fidelis", and after we had all had our turn, he picked the best one to conduct the full song. Guess who? It was so cool! I know, I am a dork.
