He knew he wasn't the best cook in the world, but seeing Rock smile and help him clean up the mess in the kitchen somehow made Tidus feel his efforts at making dinner worth it.

Sometimes, on his small little hill in Zanarkand, Tidus would remember his mother. Of the times he laughed with her, of the times he cried for her, and of the time she got sick and died. It hurt, and whenever he remembered her, he'd always go back to his father. And by that point, he'd just get frustrated, and have to clear his head of everything

He knew this day was coming. It always did. Try as he might to ignore the date, it always came. It happened every year, and it never really hurt any less as time went by. It had been so long since it happened, he should have at least been able to accept it by now. And in a way, he had. But still, remembering everything always caused him so much pain
