I got to go to my first live wrestling event last night. We went out to see Ring of Honor as a warm up to Wrestling Weekend of Awesome. It was me and wickedthought, along with paintscribe and 116degrees and his lady.
And it was so much fun! It reminds me a little of the form of theatre where one sees the man in the black cape and twirly mustache and one knows that you Boo and Hiss. The crowd chants are ones that wickedthought and 116degrees knew so they told us why and where they came from, like shouting Wooooo when one wrestler slaps another. Then there was the one that started with one poor ref who when he counted it was followed by yells of "twinkie". I guess the refs are regularly booed and yelled at so maybe he didn't mind. Between the yelling and pretty rope work and me and paintscribe almost getting run over by a hard core match that was moving through the crowd, it was a very very fun night.
And tomorrow is Wrestlemania!
