Cooking for Gamers: Orange Porkchops

Feb 05, 2011 09:01

Hello again, due to a lack of posting we are actually having a double feature. All you black lagoon dwellers and time warpers are welcome. Instead of eating pizza or fast food for gaming night you might want to try your hand at porkchops. These only have four steps; so easy and amazing.

Orange Porkcops
Porkchops with a sweet orange sauce
Worth 100 XP and uses the stove and ready in 45 minutes or so

INGREDIENTS
olive oil
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs orange marmalade
1 tbs vinegar

STEPS
1) Brown pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper to taste; drain fat (optional)
2) Combine orange juice, marmalade and vinegar and pour over pork chops
3) Cover and simmer 35-45 minutes
4) Spoon sauce over chops and serve with rice or potatoes

As a bonus note: sauce can be thickened by removing the chops to a bowl to keep warm. Mix together 1 tbs melted butter and 1 tbs cornstarch and stir into sauce over med high heat. This will quickly make the sauce thick and sweet.

These are John's standard answer if I ask him what should be on the dinner list every week. I'm pretty sure he'd eat them for breakfast too.
