I had decided that I wasn't going to do NaNo this year. Then an idea swamped me. Okay, it barely dribbled on me because I still don't know what the heck is going on with it.  It doesn't matter. An opening scene is a perfect way to start, since openings are so tricky. I supposed a closing scene would be good too. Fo me, a novel is usually engendered by some glimpse from something in the middle, and I have to muslce my way to the beginning and end.

Interesting. I usually get my beginning, then end, then middle. But I do sometimes wonder if I start my stories at the right place...

From Dictionary.com: A person dressed in tattered or ragged clothing; a ragamuffin.

(Tatterdemalion derives from tatter + -demalion, of unknown origin, though perhaps from Old French maillon, "long clothes, swadding clothes" or Italian maglia, "undershirt.")

I'm fine with people getting the definition because, obviously, the character has the name for that reason. However, I had hoped that the majority of people wouldn't automatically think of the Marvel Comic villian by the same moniker.
