I went to the Sleep Center at the local uni's hospital last night for a general sleep study. Odd place- it looks like a cross between a hospital room and a cheap hotel- terrible decor, really. It took a bit over an hour to wire me up for the EEG and ECG sections- I did manage to snap a picture on my cell's camera, I looked like the friggin Borg, with wires sprouting out of everywhere. (I'll try to upload the pictures later, they're funny if nothing else.) by the time they were finished with the tubes and wires, I was really glad they gave me the Ambien, otherwise I would have never fallen asleep with all that paraphernalia attached to me. They tell you you can sleep on your back or your side- hell no, sleeping on the back is the only way you don't dislodge anything, trust me.
I slept through the night. I don't remember waking at all. If they did fit a CPAP to me during the night, I was zonked enough I simply don't remember it.
And I get results in two weeks.
