playing "what not to wear"

As part of the jobhunting thing I'm doing general-appearance improvement stuff. Friday I got my hair dyed professionally- a rich cocoa brown with red-brown highlights. Today, Sally and I went shopping. This can be a dangerous thing, but we really scored.

I got two pairs of shoes, three layering t-shirts, a blue sweater, and a new interview outfit- black wide-leg pants and a tweedy grey cropped jacket. I need to track down a funky pin for the jacket, but it's a great combo; elegant and understated.

Then we went to Sephora, where I replaced *all* my makeup. I'd started counting on my fingers, and the last time I'd bought makeup was when I was interviewing at Gyrus, about a year and a half ago. Most of it I'd bought before I got married- and y'all can count back on your fingers and figure out how old *that* stuff was.

I'm feeling very girly right now, but accomplished. I picked up a lot of nice stuff and it was mostly on sale- enough to justify the Urban Decay and the rather-expensive foundation. This was the most money and attention I'd given myself in a long time.

Now I need to finish the website mockup for Bubba's gun club (a story for another entry) and perhaps a little WoW.
