We had a layoff announced at work today- on my side of the company we lost roughly 1 in 5, in two waves- one group will leave in early January and one in April. They decided to announce it all at once to make the transition easier.

Yes, I still have a job. I've got a lot of friends getting the axe though.

I will probably have a nice philosophic and analytic post about this sometime later.
For now I'm gonna get drunk and play World of Warcraft.
