It has been a psychotically busy week, and this coming week will be no better. Walking backwards through it...
Yesterday was the DI State tournament. It was at Chaska HS, which is on the far opposite side of the Twin Cities from me, so I had to be up at the butt-crack of dawn to get there on time. I had a cool Instant Challenge problem to appraise, but it required a ton of setup and we had 20 teams to appraise. It was a bit of a haul. I twisted my ankle at the end of the day and am limping a bit.
Friday night I helped my dad take pictures at a Girl Scout Daddy-Daughter dance. I helped because the hosting troop is led by one of my cooler coworkers, and it was a good time. We got out of there quite early by most standards but I ended up heading to my parents' afterward to work on their dead computer. Dad had tried to upgrade the RAM in it and it would not boot afterward. I'm not quite ready to proclaim last rites on it, so Dad brought me home after I promised to work on it more on Sunday. I did not get to bed as early as I should have, given how early I needed to get up for Sauday AM.

That gibberish is courtesy of Motoko, who is running laps around the apartment and is apparently trying to knock over as many things as she can in one lap. (She did a victory lap across my keyboard and attacked my desk lamp.) I've interrupted this post twice to pry her off stuff and once to pull her off the top of the fishtank. She's still in the ecollar, but it's not slowing her down anymore. On one hand, this means she's healing well; on the other hand, once it's off I shudder to think how wild she will be. Her stitches come out on Monday.
This workweek was a blur, mostly. I'm doing the CA load of two analysts, designing some new system redesigns, prepping for a validation of a new computer system, and training a new analyst. (*scrolls back through LJ*) I've not mentioned this. One of my coworkers is transferring out of our department into another posting; we recently hired a new analyst to replace her, name of Nancy. Nancy's done doc. control at another med device company, so she's way ahead on the learning curve. Her best learning mode is just a bit time-consuming for her trainer, at a time when her trainer has no time to spare. I'm working through lunch a lot and clocking a lot of hours from home via VPN (like this AM, after I finish this post).
Today I need to plow through a pile of work before we head over to my parents' and try to resurrect their computer again. We also desperately need to go grocery shopping and do laundry. I may bring the laundry to the parents' and do it while we try to resurrect the computer. Woot for multitasking!
