There's a happy mood in the air today at work- we're having a MVC barbecue today.
MVC is a Meat Violation Citation- the hardware group issues MVCs to vendors that are problematic for us. MVCs are our way of getting a rep from the offending company in to talk and find solutions. Vendors like it because buying us 15 lbs of beef tenderloin is cheaper for them than having us invoke any of the $$$$ penalties specified in our contracts.
Today's MVC barbecue is in honor of the vendor of their allegedly hot-swappable fan for our new chassis. This hardware's been giving us nothing but headaches, between shifting specs, part number problems, and their recurring habit of sending us fans with the clips installed backward.
The vendor rep brought us prime rib instead of tenderloin. Gonna be a day of good eating....
