Sometimes I wish I wasn't trying to avoid excessive or sharp profanity in my writing. Because I'm at a line where "fucking" is about the only word that carries the proper emphasis.

"I was just stabbed through the fucking lung. I think I'm allowed an unpleasant side-effect or two."
