Been a while, I know, but I've been busy.
I'm taking some online classes in HTML web design, hopefully can change careers sometime soon. I really don't like the warehouse scene anymore. People spitting on the floor really grosses me out. My second class starts today. :)
Today was the big immigrant strike, where they weren't supposed to go to work or school or buy anything. About the only differences I noticed was that there were no hispanics waiting for jobs on the ride out of town for work this morning, and the line in Walmart was great! (Normally there are about fifty hispanics (mostly illegal) waiting for jobs. They line the streets, and it's made it a not so nice part of town.) What they want, apparently, is to be made legal citizens. They don't however, seem to want to do any of the work that would make them legal citizens, they just want it handed to them. Tammy saw some this morning with signs demanding that illegal immigrants be given the right to vote. Now, if they were legal immigrants, fine. Vote away. No problem. But if you're here illegally, my message to you is this:
Tough luck. You broke the law just in coming here, and in my opinion, you're ruining this country. You stick 5 families in a single family home and breed like rabbits, even though you barely make enough money to feed one family. Then you bitch and complain because the government doesn't hand you everything legal citizens have to work for. All your kids overload our school system and make it impossible for the teachers to focus on the children who were born here, because they're ESL (English as a second language) students, who have "special needs." You can't be bothered to learn our language, and now I'm having to learn yours just to be able to do my job. I was born here, you were not, and if that makes me intolerant, so be it. If you want to be Americans so bad, try learning the language for starters. Then learn to obey our laws.
Sorry for the rant, but I feel strongly about this.
