MNDA's Medicinal Adventures, part 375,292

This weekend, I learned many things. In no particular order:

1) I'm severely allergic to a filler in the generic form of Felxeril.

2) Diamonds Are Forever is really funny, actually.

3) I can bake chocolate tarts while being totally zonked on high-dose prednasone, convinced that the stairs are incapable of holding my weight and that Sean Connery is secretly a cat.

4) You're never so aware of how much skin you have until all of it itches.

I ended up going to the ER twice, the second time came with an overnight stay (they wanted to make sure I didn't try for a hat trick, apparently). IVs of antihistamines, pain killers, random steroids and a shot of adrenaline (during which I was fully prepared for a Pulp Fiction moment) all weekend, and today, i'm sitting at home. Monday was spent mostly sleeping, which is not really surprising. Tuesday I baked (see #3), and today, I feel puffy faced, sore throated, and just... bleh. The meds I'm on basically suppress my immune system, so all it takes to get me sick is a downwind sneeze. Bleh.

At least I went to a different ER this time, and they were very cool folks. Very nice, helpful, and not thinking that I was some psycho junkie just looking for painkillers. One of the nurses helping me actually started talking to me about Monty Python and Benny Hill, of all randomness.

I actually have a more upbeat entry as well, but I figure I should let everyone know about my Weekend in Hell before I come back to fun stuff.

sick, update
