Let's see if I remember how to do this LJ thing....

It's been awhile *cough* since I've updated, though I have been reading and commenting (if rarely). Here's what's new:
  • Middle Daughter is over the flu, though she does still have the occasional cough!hack!gasp! episode. Still, out of the ten days she was sick, she only missed 4 days of school, thanks to all the snow days we've had.
  • We have replaced *pauses to count* ... lots of Very Old and/or Very Bad furniture, all at My Leading Man's behest. Normally, I would worry that my cheap frugal husband has been taken over by some kind of pod-replicant, but frankly what we've replaced was so far past gone that I'm happy enough to live with Pseudo-Leading-Man. We've replaced two sofas in the family room, the kitchen table and chairs, and either replaced or moved the beds for all three daughters. Then Leading Man agreed to hire someone to fix the girls'/guest bathroom upstairs and the powder room downstairs (replacing commodes, sinks, faucets, cabinets, and flooring) ... AND HE'S ALLOWED ME TO BEGIN CONTACTING CONTRACTORS.

    / swoon.

  • Of course, we've also had to deal with multiple winter storms, including today. School was closed, even though we got no more than 2 inches of snow chez mmyrtle. At my office? We got 12 inches. I live about 18 miles away from the office; 15 miles of today's drive home was in a blizzard, complete with countless accidents and semi trucks stopping in the left -- that would be the high-speed -- lane to put chains on their tires. The last three miles of my commute were nearly snow-free. Seriously.

  • Eldest Daughter and I are 10 days away from our trip to England. I'm practically twitching with excitement, my mom is nervous, Eldest Daughter is ... hard to gauge. She's either excited beyond words or is bored out of her mind. I'm choosing to believe the former is true.

I'm exhausted.

But I am still reading about y'all .
