So, progress is happening, but it's slow. The dust is insane, it's so fine, and everywhere. At least the Metservice was on crack yesterday, so we got stuff done. I spent a couple of hours in the garden, continuing the cleanup around the side and bottom. I've suddenly cleared quite a large area now available for winter planting - except I have enough broadbeans and brassicae. Maybe onion? I have access to this particular piece of dirt for a year, then it will become a berry patch when it's been contained within retaining walls and levelled.
Then we had lunch, and then I attacked ElderM's room. That took the whole afternoon to clean. But it is now clean, and tidy, and the bed is freshly made with clean sheets, and all bits and bobs have been wiped clean, beaten, vacuumed or washed.
Needless to say there's been no sewing today, nor will there be for a while, I imagine.
Meantime, Himself has framed all the new walls, we have a ceiling, and part of the wall has pink batts in it. He is running low on framing timber, so next will probably be a bit of a cleanup, more framing, then next weekend sanding and varnishing the floor. Then there's gibbing, and painting, and then it will be done! He rocks, he does.
The girls have today cleared all the debris from the room which was just piled up outside. One picked out the bits of wood that could be burned, and the other took the actual rubbish up to the garage where it will sit until we get a skip in at the end of the process.
Then, because it was so hot, they played in the sprinkler for a while. I figured, what the heck, according to the Metservice (who may still be on crack) it's going to be winter by Wednesday, so may as well enjoy the warmth while it lasts.
Right, YoungerM is sleeping in the playroom tonight as her room is still covered in dust, ElderM enjoying her clean room, and we're still on the sofa for at least two more nights if not more. At least there's the second half of Alice tonight.
