Albert had made his way back to the common room while Thomas was still setting up and had retreated into his dorm in order to shed his damn muggle costume before everyone had the chance to arrive. If he was going to be attending a party he would be dressed comfortably, not ridiculously. He decided on a simple white button down with black pants, pausing in the mirror to check his reflection halfheartedly before slinking back towards the common room.

Pushing open the door, he spotted Thomas by the fire place and gave him a quick nod in greeting, "Evening, Nott..." Crossing the room to the table he poured himself a glass of firewhisky before joining his housemate by the fireplace. "Nice little set up you have here. At least I can feel better about missing out on your first little gathering."

Thomas returned the nod and turned slightly to face his housemate, resting an elbow on the mantel above fireplace. "Runcorn, nice to see you." His eyes flickered to a point just beyond Albert's head as a few more of their housemates entered the common room before returning his gaze to the Slytherin in front of him. "Glad you could make it. Hopefully, a few more of our housemates will be able to join us for this one. The first was a bit last minute."

Evan trotted rather enthusiastically into the common room, still in full Halloween attire and with no intention of changing before the night was through. He looked good in a cloth sheet. There were only so many days of the year one was allowed to parade one's bare chest around for all to see.

"Thomas!" he sing-songed, bounding over like an excited puppy. "Bert as well, lovely!" he beamed from one to the other, but the smile slowly faded from his face at their apparent somberness. Neither of them looked in the least bit drunk. "Christ, look at the two of you. Is this a party or a wake? Have you done the silencing charms? Why isn't there any music? " Evan broke off to fix himself a drink and pick up several of the nibbles Thomas had set out before returning back to the pair. He stared expectantly at them for a few moments. "Ohgodcomeon," he yelled impatiently. "You know how it goes! Eat, drink and be merry!"

Thomas shook his head, a grin stretching across his lips. "You're already smashed, aren't you?" he asked, patting Evan on the shoulder as he walked a few feet away to the drink table to pour himself another glass of firewhiskey. "Silencing are charms are in place and music... well, you can take care of that, mate," he said, answering Evan's questions as he set down the bottle and made his way back to the fireplace beside them, lifting the glass to his lips, the contents burning slightly as it slid down his throat.

"Of course, lovely lady," Evan replied, wiggling his eyebrows and hips seductively. "You are correct in your assumption, Thomas my boy. I am quite, quite sloshed." He grinned over his shoulder at Nott as he fixed Dahlia her drink, spilling the contents a little as he did so. Evan shrugged his shoulders apologetically as he passed it to her.

"How did everyone find their dates, then?" he enquired. "Mine was surprisingly sweet. Very pretty, Thomas, you were right about that. Almost a shame she's muggleborn..."

Thomas laughed, setting his drink down near the fireplace as Dahlia approached. "Dahlia, lovely of you to join us," he said, smiling at her in greeting. "You didn't happen to see Andromeda on your way down here, did you?" he asked curiously, eyes flickering to the entrance to the common room as a few more Slytherins stepped inside.

Turning his attention back to Evan once he had determined that none of the girls entering were the one he was looking for, Thomas replied, "Glad to hear you had a nice time with your date. It really is a shame she's Muggleborn. She'd have quite a few blokes after her if it weren't for her blood." He picked up his glass, taking a small swig of firewhiskey before setting it down again. He was determined to stretch out the drinking for a bit tonight. It wasn't nearly as fun if you were pissed in the first half hour.

Albert resisted the urge to smack Evan for calling him Bert. Again. All in good fun, the lad was obviously a bit drunk already, he had might as well start catching up with him. "Evan, mate, always the party starter..."

He tilted his head back, gulping down the burning liquid and had to resist giving his chest a few solid punches to help it down. "Good stuff, there, Thomas," he finally managed, clapping Thomas on the back before leaving his spot by the fireplace to refill his glass.

"Dahlia, beautiful. I'm glad to see that you've graced us lucky gentleman with your presence," he greeted, as he strolled past her, giving her a quick wink, "always lovely to see you."

Victoria entered the Slytherin common room a few minutes after the dance had ended and went straight into the sixth year girls dormitory to change out of her costume. She decided on something simple, pulling on a loose black skirt that hit her mid-thigh and a fitted white & black tank top with a long necklace of black beads hanging from her neck. She then made her way back out into the common room to pour herself a glass of firewhiskey, ignoring the grumble of disapproval from her brother a few feet away. Less than an hour until midnight and it would be her birthday. She would be of age then and Thomas would have no right to complain.

"Hello Albert, Evan," she said, raising her glass to them before taking a small sip of the liquid. "Have a nice time at the dance?"

Albert's eyes twinkled in amusement as he directed his gaze, to the delightful looking girl at his side. He started to reply something cheeky or move to give her hand a kiss but stopped himself before any words came out as he caught a sidelong glance down the way at Thomas. Not worth taking the risk with her brother there. "Good evening, Victoria," was what he settled on with a polite little bow in her direction, "you looked quite pretty tonight. I had a fine time at the dance, thank you. How was your experience."

Victoria took a seat on the black sofa near the fireplace, taking another sip studying Albert as she took another sip from her glass. "Why thank you," she replied, finally smiling up at him. "It was nice, actually. My date wasn't so bad, I danced with a few nice blokes during the last two hours, and now I intend on having a lovely time with this firewhiskey and my housemates as I wait to come of age, which should be happening in about..." She looked up at the clock, squinting to make out the numbers, "thirty-seven minutes."

Albert quirked an eyebrow at her revelation, raising his glass to where she sat on the couch. Ah...coming of age. How quaint. "Is that so? Well then we must drink to your coming of age, dear," he replied with a smirk. "I'm glad that you decided to spend it in our company." He lifted his glass a bit further, offering her a nod before taking another sip. " We must do our best to ensure that the birthday girl has her wishes accommodated, isn't that right, Thomas? Very special time."

Thomas pulled his gaze from Victoria to frown slightly at Albert. "She's only excited about it, because she thinks that means I'll have no say in her life. You have another thing coming, if you truly believe that," he said, directly that last statement at his sister. "And as long as her wishes don't include the Russian, she can have whatever she wants."

Victoria rolled her eyes at her brother before swallowing a bit more of the liquid in her glass, wincing as it burned her throat. "You don't have to worry about fulfilling any wishes. I am perfectly content just spending the evening in the company of my housemates..."

After a moment, she added, "Oh, and Thomas, about that birthday present you and William promised last year... can I get it over the holidays?" Victoria watched her brother give her one curt nod, causing a small smile to play across her lips. Despite still being upset with her about getting involved with Antonin, she was glad he intended to keep his promise. "Excellent."

The corners of Thomas' lips tugged upward in a smile as Andromeda made her way across the common room. He placed a hand on the small of her back as she kissed his cheek and eyed the table of liquor nearby. "Sorry I couldn't wait for you, darling. Can I get you something to drink?" he asked, already moving toward the table.
