Ahhh the OST of Queen of the Damned. Of course the book is something else but there were some moments I truly liked that movie. And the music helped a lot... but to your drawing...
I'm sitting here for some minutes already and try to be objective but how can one be objective when one a) likes vampire anyway? b) loves Kensei/Shuuhei? c) adores your drawings of them?
The drawing is very erotic and I really like that kind of subtlety which leaves everything to the imagination but is quite CLEAR on what this is about. ;) Shuuhei with that wicked vampire tooth looks mighty sexy. Very appealing. I absolutely love their 'position' and Shuuhei's abandon-filled face while Kensei bites him is giving me shivers... the good ones. XD
The lyrics fit completely and I like that you put them up on the picture. Spiderwebs are not my favorite though but that is just me. But those ornaments go very well with the vampire image again and give the whole drawing something cold - like marble grave stones. I have to admit that I do miss a bit more red though... for some reason the blood drops look a bit pinkish here - I don't know whether that was your intent or not.
Overall - very entrancing. As always your details like the division number on Kensei's arm and the 69 on Shuuhei's chest - are simply lovely. :)
Thank you very much and please don't flatter me, or I'll believe you in the end ;)
I haven't read the book and didn't like the movie. But I remebered the OST somehow and the feeling it had provided throughout the movie.
Yes, sometimes (especially concerning vampire-themed illustrations) insinuations and subtlety, works best. It provides you with a proper erotic feeling somehow.
Like I mentioned on my post, this image has quite an 'unfinished' touch (and I'm sorry for the bad quality, my scanner just messed this one up and like you noticed....red turned pink, shades disappeared, etc.). I would have liked to adorn or at least draw it more precise, but due to time issues I couldn't spend much time on it. Maybe I post someday a revised & finished version of it.
I used spiderwebs, because they're part of the 'typical' halloween feeling. Besides of some functional issues (grins).
LOL It seems OST can save movies from being forgotten and give them some sort of quality and reason for existing! hehe I think many movies wouldn't have reached even half of their cult status without the help of their respective soundtracks.
Great, now I start to feel the need for some vampire stories... *grins*
Btw I meant to send you a few links to some Japanese Ken/Shuu art pages. Would you be interested?
Oh no, the scanner messed that up so bad? Woah. Now that is very unsatisfactory. And yes, please do. Never should leave stuff unfinished. ;)
Aye, I know. I like spiders well enough but spider webs always make me itch to start cleaning... lol So much to me and Halloween feeling. lol
Indeed, OSTs/BGMs play in fact a very important part in any movie....just imagine a thriller with happy, shiny music (laughs)
Oh yes, vampire stories....a very attractive/fascinating issue. Well, I would like to revise it as soon as possible, but my shedule is literally crammed 'til February'09 at least ^_^;;
(laughs) Ok, I'm also not a particular fan of having spider webs in my house or apartment, I prefer all tidy. But anyways it's a fact, that spiders are supposed to be useful creatures in nature (smiles)
LOL But since I am so easily scared by thrillers and horror movies... happy music could just be THE answer to make those movies more bearable for me. ;) lol
Oh my, that long? I hope you do take some time off now and then and won't drown under too much work and studying. ...and draw the occasional enticing picture of Kense/Shuuhei, please
That is true. Spiders have their important part in the circle of life. Btw do people in Spain believe in bad luck when they see a spider in the morning and respectively in good luck when they spy one in the evening? It is a superstition I know from Poland but it does exist in Germany as well. Just wondering.

But they would definitely loose all their intriguing charme and suspense, I guess.
Well, I'll try....besides, drawing kind of relaxes me.
I'm not particular superstitious, so I don't know.
But nevertheless Spanish are commonly (in general) superstitious, I guess.
So...maybe?
