So amazingly after going to the job fair last night, I found out there is a cool job opening in a town near Salem, all total about an hour from Portland. The job is teaching 6, 7, 8th grade science as well as possibly religion, and social studies and taking care of 7th grade homeroom at St. Mary's School in Stayton, OR a preK-8th grade school.
Link to the school's website I'm really excited. Plus a girl in my program at school knows the area and community well and the principal so that's awesome. I contacted the principal today and he's already interviewed multiple candidates about the job, and so he asked me to come out to the school on Thursday afternoon to come see the school and do an informal interview.
Eeek, I'm excited and nervous and so not ready. Tonight is going to be doing cover letter and filling out the application and working on doing my prep for Thursday, thank goodness my kids are taking a test tomorrow so I can work on this stuff tonight and I don't have any work to do.
This week is nuts for me and my kids which adds up to lots of grading for me over break. Tomorrow the kids take their post test on chapter 3/the periodic table which is my work sample, so I am praying that I the kids are studying as I am writing this, but somehow I don't think they all are. They are also turning in thier journals to me.
Then of course the day after that is the elements 16-30 quiz, and lab prep, and then friday will be book switch day, because it's pretty much a wash since it's school celebration day so classes are like 25 min and the afternoon is mostly time for kids to party and what not. There is also the making your own periodic table project that they are turning in to me on Friday too. So it's a rough week for my kids work wise. Which means it's also a rough week for me work wise.
