I wish only to entertain, and failing that, to provide a valuable moral lesson.

If I was going to be stranded on an island in one of those Hunger Games/Battle Royale/Most Dangerous Game type of situations, there'd be a number of things that would worry me, but even more worrisome than how I got there or where my luggage was this time would be which strategy to pursue, because everyone except the winner is only going to get one ( Read more... )

I love everything about this entry.

If I were in the HG, I'd be one of the first to die. If I weren't, I'd just try to hide somewhere until it was over. Of course, that doesn't work, either, as they illustrated in the books, so I'd probably just try to find a quiet place to hang myself or something. My district would hate me.

We had to do a science project in seventh grade that involved making our own animal and pretending it was a new species we'd discovered. Its scientific name was our first and last names backward, making mine Nioc Einapets. It kind of has a ring to it, but it sounds less scientific and more like a Star Trek fanfic name. Occasionally, I find myself considering what other people's species would be called, if they'd been in my class. Emiaj is a pretty cool name, I have to say.

Between you are versayce, these comment are making me a little sad, but I can understand the apprehension. If we were on the same island and I stumbled across your body, I'd give a quick salute before moving on.

Einapets is actually kind of awesome. It would make a great name for a wizard's precocious familiar. "Einapets! Put that beaker down this instant!" One time I Google searched my last name backward (like any normal person would do) and I found out that it's actually a legitimate last name. I was kind of stunned for half a second because it felt like I had stumbled into a mirror universe.

I just did the same! I am disappointed to report that the Niocs don't exist yet, but there is something called the National Iranian Oil Company. The first results are in Persian, which makes it seem exotic and interesting, although I bet it isn't.

You should just march right into the National Iranian Oil Company headquarters and shout, "I am here to claim my birthright!"

reading these comments made me want to search my last name backwards, and surprisingly, there's someone named oirolf florio, it makes me wonder if his parents were jerks.
