When I say, "Only Taco Bell would think of something like this," I mean it in a good way.

I've been thinking about it, and if I was in the direct path of a hurricane (I mean really direct, almost as if it were coming specifically for me), I'd meet it stripped to the waist in the tall grass, holding a lightning rod like a samurai sword with it secretly wired to like a million H-bombs. Except even more dramatic somehow ( Read more... )

I too loved the mouse salon image. Your mind certainly works in unique ways.

I didn't even notice they had digitally enlarged Johnny's eyes in Alice until they mentioned it in the extras. Now it's all I can see (and as probably the biggest Rickman fan on your F-list, trust me, his Caterpillar is too brief and unsatisfying to be a sole reason for watching. Not that the movie isn't good, but I like Johnny too and I love Burton).

I've had you friended long enough to dispel your doubts about being the number one Alan Rickman fan on my friends list, but yeah, disappointing news to hear about that caterpillar. Urge to see movie fading.

Well, in fairness (and no surprise to you), I won't be satisfied with any Rickman content until someone makes a movie with no one BUT him lasting about six hours long. With audio commentary by him. And a special viewing with him. Plus a recording of me viewing it with him. I think that about covers it.

If you're at all curious, here's my writeup on Alice: some spoilers. Only if you're really interested though.

Sometimes the familiarity of watching a film that has a lot of actors I recognize makes it more enjoyable for me, and I had forgotten how many famous people were in this one. I take it from your review that this movie is more about the individual performances and not as much about a new story set in Wonderland, which makes sense I guess, because that's what the books were basically like, and I liked those. Maybe if I find a good opportunity to watch it. (Here I am making like a two-hour film would involve some huge commitment on my part. I should just watch it for the fact that it got brought up.)

For sure there are worse ways to spend a few spare hours. The movie wasn't OMG AWESOME MUST SEE IT!, but definitely had enough individual small moments to keep me happy. In fact, all this talking about it makes me think it's time to revisit my Blu-ray, I think I've watched it once since buying it.
