I got back a few hours ago from spending the weekend with Anna Dumas' family at their condo in Perdido Key. It was a lot of fun-- Anna took me boating which I had never really done before, and we saw dolphins in the bay! A whole pod of them. I have never been that close to wild dolphins. I could almost touch them. I almost fell out of the boat trying.
Anna's family is really interesting. The first night I was there I managed to accidentally get them started on a religious discussion, which did not conclude very well, in my opinion. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to ask "...so what are your views on free will?" (and yes there was appropriate context, I didn't just blurt out a controversial question) which became an hour long tangent on how awesome God is and how he does apparently predetermine who is going to heaven and who is going to hell. So yeah, except for that Anna's family is pretty cool.
We saw an apparently rare natural phenomenon called a rainbow cloud-- it's not an actual rainbow, that is, it doesn't have the arches-- rather it's just a big cloud that stretches across the sky and is filled with colors. It was amazing. I managed to get a few pictures on my digital camera, but since my computer is el bustedo, I can't upload them. Oh well.
I have a lot of thoughts. Happy Easter.
