Well!  It seems as if we have all survived this infestation of horrible vermin.  This is surely cause for celebration, yes?

I know what I will be doing... there is a certain friend who wished for me to meet them in a tavern.  That -- I am looking forward to, very much.  As for the rest of you, I advise you take this time and enjoy yourselves.  One ( Read more... )

[Well let's get this over with.]

Save me a drink mon.

[Kevas heads for the tavern, but takes his sweet time in doing so.]

Very well. That seems a small enough price to pay for the evening.

[And the elf will be there. Waiting.]

[Kevas eventually arrives, and it's about this time it occurs to him that he's got no idea what he's looking for. In fact, he doesn't even know this guy's name so instead of actually looking, Kevas is just going to head to the bar.]

[Unfortunately for Kevas... that's where the elf chose to wait out his reluctant companion for the evening. Never mind that the stool was made for a human, or someone equally taller than he is.]

[Kevas looks around the tavern. Who knows what this guy looks like. Maybe he's not even here. He can only hope so, but while he's here Kevas might as well enjoy himself.]

Oi bartendah! Gimme da strongest jah got and a lot of it.

[He's going to need it.]

[Oh, but he knows that accent. He will slowly turn around, a broad smile on his face...

... okay, so it falters a bit when he sees where that voice is coming from. That's... different. But, then it's right back to being smarmy charming.]

What? You do not want the glass I saved for you? And it was so much effort too!

[And Zevran's accent is all too familiar to Kevas as well.

He turns and isn't the least bit surprised to find that his new...friend is an elf. An elf with remarkably small ears but still an elf.]

I drink hard and heavy mon.

[And to prove it Kevas takes the saved glass and knocks it back in one shot. It's only after he finishes that he wonders if Zevran might have drugged it.]

[Zevran watches the drinking with an appreciative eyebrow raise. He almost wishes Oghren were here -- if only to place bets on who would drink the other under the table faster.]

So I see.

[He leans forward a bit, apparently undaunted. Don't worry, Kevas -- nothing in the booze but booze.]

Is that all you are capable of doing hard and heavy, my friend?

[Well, this guy doesn't care much about personal space now does he? It's right about that time that Kevas' other drink arrives and you know what? He's just going to shotgun that one too.

When he's done he orders another.]

Okay mon I be pretty sure dat sometin' got lost in translation here, and we agreed on two completely diffrent t'ings.

[Now that is impressive. Zevran's eyebrow raises a little higher, and he rests his cheek on one hand, propping his elbow on the bar.]

If you are in the habit of doing other things as quickly as you drink, my friend, this will be one spectacularly short evening.

[And then he tilts his head, frowning slightly.]

Oh? Is that so?
