mallo788 found a link to my big appearance in the Toronto Sun. I bought the print version, too, but here is the online version.

... You actually believe that?
I'm going to sound like an asshole here, but what the fuck?
This is a blatant step toward censorship!
Why don't we just go the whole nine yards and make a rule that all movies must be about kittens and rainbows?
This would be an awful restriction on the creativity of directors, screenwriters, etc.
Ever heard of book burning? Agree with that?

This isn't a personal attack... I've argued with many many people on this subject, and just felt it necessary to voice my opinion...
Em

ps
It is cool that you're in the Toronto Sun.

In case you read my other replies and think wtf why didn't Mel reply to mine, it's because I have a lot of homework to do that I was right in the middle of when I started replying. I'm going to get to it tomorrow!

That's basically the lengthy, and perhaps more truthful way of saying what I wanted to say. Thank you for opening that window for me.

I hate when people go out of their way to be assholes with no particular reason, so I hope you don't think I'm being unnecessarily brutish when I say that I am also pretty insulted by this protest, regardless of my opinion on smoking. I could tell you exactly why I think it's apalling, but Emma said it all already. Kudos, Emma.

PS. I still agree that it's cool that you're in the Toronto Sun. And yes, smoking is terrible.

PPS. I can't believe that you're acting out against smoking, but maintain that drinking and smoking pot are fine.

PPPS. Violence hurts people... does that mean that there should no longer be any violence in films for fear of influencing people to act out violently against each other?

Supporting something you believe in is always cool, but there is always another side to it ( ... )
