Awards ceremony this morning. I had been waiting for it for days. The Ladies' Choir marched their butts right up there and sang, and I was one of the few who knew about it in advance. Although winning gold at Nationals was of tremendous importance to me, the overwhelming support of my peers matters just as much, if not more. A large number of the people that I talked to about the awards ceremony after it was over weren't even there, which really upset me. Eruptions of smiles, cheers, and applause are what keep me going. So many people at school know that we have an excellent basketball team and talented skiers, but I really feel as though they need to know that they also have an award-winning choir to stand behind. We don't get enough credit.
