Hair - It's time again for a major chop

Been thinking about it for a while and I want to get it chopped off now, but my impulses are tempered by some worthy considerations re: stylists and styles.
Usual stylist at Liquid
  • PROS: She's meticulous, friendly, and charges $35. Trims are free, which will help me maintain a short cut without breaking the bank.
  • CONS: I think she's less experienced and may have trouble giving me a close-cropped style. Also, the last haircut she gave me wasn't thinned out enough.
  • QUESTIONS: Can show me how to style these cuts?
Old stylist at Liquid
  • PROS: He has experience and once gave me a great precision cut. Trims are free, which will help me maintain a short cut without breaking the bank.
  • CONS: He charges $50. We have nothing to chitchat about and he's kind of curt/ambivalent in manner, which makes me not want to work with him.
  • QUESTIONS: Can show me how to style these cuts?
John's barber
  • PROS: He does a great fade. He'll likely charge $20-35. Trims may be free--receptionist said I'd have to talk to him about it.
  • CONS: He works at a barbershop, which means fewer female clients and less styling--and I'll need styling advice. He's also never worked with my hair (It's thick and wiry and there's LOTS of it), and I don't know how many Asian clients he has.
Considerations re: styles
  • Top gunners are the Super Bob and the Super Bowl because they seem the most versatile--I want something edgy but still pretty and feminine. I can probably style the Bowl into something close to the Q-Tip.
  • Super Pixie comes next--less versatile because of the length.
  • Love the side bang but hate bangs in my eyes IRL. Need to figure that out.
  • Have a few cow licks on the back of my head that pop up when my hair is short. Need to figure that out.
  • The close-cropped cuts will need biweekly/monthly trims. Salon has to do this for free or I'll be broke trying to stay fabulous.
  • Needs to be something that I can wash and wear, even though on most days I can afford 15-20 minutes on hair.
The end.

Pixie with Side Bang

Not crazy about the necks of these styles - too shaggy

Super Bob

I like the choppy bob in the bottom right.

Not so crazy about these anymore...

Super Bowl
