John's put sealing foam in 100 places, but I just saw a mouse again. Sniffing and nibbling near the front right corner of the stove. It just appeared in the middle of the kitchen and then disappeared underneath the stove. I know John put steel wool and foam under the brick there. I know he also put steel wool and foam underneath the tiles that are under the fridge. So where did the mouse go? I don't think he's living in the stove because I just moved it and kicked it a ton of times.

It just came out again from underneath the stove. Saw me flinch and skittered back behind the stove. And then a second later ran across my kitchen toward the study. I didn't even see where it went, it was so fast. I need to find John's BB gun now.

In the last five minutes I have:
  • sealed the crack under the study door by slipping a towel underneath it and rolling it up to block any holes,
  • moved the stove so that I can see more of what's going on behind it,
  • moved the trash can and rug to give me a better line of vision near the stove/sink area,
  • taken the bath mats off the floor of the bathroom and closed the door,
  • placed a broken (and sharp-ended) plastic broom handle on the chair next to me, and
  • found John's BB gun. It's loaded, cocked, & ready to shoot.
The dilemma, of course, is this: Have I blocked off its main area of entry (the study)? Have I made so much noise that it'll retire for the night? Maybe I should unseal the study door.

At least this one was quiet as a mouse. Ha. I'm still ready for revenge.
