I've never really thought of myself as a vintage person, but I cannot cannot cannot stop looking at this vintage Pyrex!

Look at the old school packaging! Reminds me of Woolworth's--oh nostalgia!

I've always loved that pseudo-porcelainy material--it doesn't matter what color, I've been consistently drawn to it over the years. When I was growing up the mug we had in our bathroom for rinsing was made of the same material. It was white, with an ornate raised design and possibly legs. My parents might still have it. And while working for Mr. Flynn I noticed he had a plain mug in HIS bathroom--he offered it to me when I commented on it, but I didn't feel I could take it for whatever reason. That was right before I left for college in Wisconsin. And once I found myself in front of mugs or bowls in a celadon color--probably some place like Urban Outfitters. I'm sure those were newly manufactured.

I believe the design's been discontinued, but it looks like the pieces aren't in short supply. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't mind buying--because it's special and because my fondness for it is so strangely unequivocal. I think the design is so charming!

There's an amazing 84-piece lot up for grabs--for a jaw-dropping $300. My brain can best be described as, oh, CONVULSING.
  1. Wow. Everything's all together!
  2. Wow. That is way more than I can afford.
  3. [Visions of myself on the kitchen floor in a sea of Pyrex and packaging]
  4. That's way more than I can afford.
  5. [Visions of myself baking with the mixing bowls]
  6. That must have been one prima donna housewife!
  7. [Visions of myself rolling on the kitchen floor in pure Pyrex rapture]
Okay, time to stop fantasizing. And speaking of fantasizing, after much research I think I might have to wait for the market to produce a smartphone that I really want. A big part of the problem is Mac compatibility. And the fact that I want a PDA with phone capabilities--whereas the models out there are either email machines or media machines. And cost accordingly. Also, I don't want the Coach jacket pictured in the past post--I had my eye on a longer toggle coat style that's in the stores but not online. Sadly it's got a fur-trimmed hood, not sure how I feel about that. But really I just want the Michael Kors coat. :)

Okay, the end the end. Thanks for sharing in this vintage Pyrex lovefest with me. :)
