Saw a most interesting documentary the other day. It's called The Business of Being Born and is about how the American medical system has made having babies more of a business than the wonderful, life-altering experience it should be. Now, I'm not a mom and never wanted to be, but for those of you who are considering it, it is a fascinating film that I would highly recommend. It amazes me how incredibly different the maternity system is in Europe and how it is far more accommodating of the mother and her comfort rather than the convenience of the doctors. The calm, natural births they show in the docu are quite marvelous.
