Okay, so the rash got even worse last night.....the nettle-like bumps all merged together to form giant whit welts on my skin, I looked like I'd been burned! I went to bed still itching and then I woke up at 6am and the rash had faded on my upper body, but was now all over my thighs!
By the time I got to the doctors, the welts on my thighs had faded to just a red rash, and my neck and chest was starting to itch again. The doctor said it's hives, basically I'm having an allergic reaction to something, so he prescribed me antihistemines (is that spelled right? At least I said it right, I told someone before that I was on amphetamines, lol. speed freak much?). They worked on the itching, and I have no more welts, but my thighs are bright red and it hurts quite badly, I think probably more from the scratching than the rash. It feels like really bad sunburn, I'm pretty much doing the john wayne walk at the moment, lol.
Anyway, I think the problem was the throws that I bought from Ikea and put straight on the chairs withought washing them first...maybe they have some sort of chemical in the dye or something? Well I'm washing them now so I'll soon find out the next time I park my substantial arse on them.
Got some other stuff sorted at the doctor too....Apparently the my notes after the ultrasound I had say that my RIGHT ovary appears normal...but they couldn't find my RIGHT ovary. No, I haven't made a mistake, that is what they wrote. Obviously they made a mistake and meant they couldn't find my LEFT ovary (hence the confusion over whether the cyst-like-thingie is in fact a cyst-like-thingie or my ovary). Shows how easily mistakes can be made though, geez, it's lucky it wasn't something life threatening. Anyway, the doc (new doc, VERY nice and he LISTENS) has referred me for another scan, so we can finally get this sorted. He thinks I may have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Fab.
Also, he thinks the reason I'm so tired during the day is that I may have Sleep Apnea, which basically means I stop breathing during sleeping. He said that everybody stops breathing occasionally during the night, but with some people it happens so often during the night that it results in very poor sleep (and most of the time the patient isn't even aware of having woken up), resulting in feeling so tired the next day. So he's made me an appointment at a sleep clinic for the end of April either to confirm this or rule it out.
He's put me back on the anti-depressants that actually work, so yay! Hopefully me mood will start picking up again soon :)
And he's referred me to a weight loss clinic (which I have already been reffered to once, but they seem to have forgotten about me, lol). I want to lose weight anyway, but being overweight could also be causing the sleep apnea, so lightening the load could only help.
I feel a lot better now that things are getting sorted *grin*
For once, I'm going to bed happy (or at least I will be happy until Tucker tries to lie down on my sore legs like he did earlier. Ouch, lol).
