NYC!
here are some of the pics from my trip!
on sunday d picked me up from the airport and took me to the amazing fairway market in brooklyn. we didn't have nearly enough time to look around - it was huge! i LOVE supermarkets so i could have spent ages there.
we ate a snack on their patio and got to look out at the beautiful water to the statue of liberty. the weather was gorgeous and i was happy.
august 3rd:
the next day d & l took off work to hang out with me. we went to lower manhattan and walked around, did a little shopping and had a great time. this is d & l reading the plaque at the site of the triangle shirtwaist factory fire. i don't know why they're so amused.
august 4th:
d & l belong to the park slope coop - members only but d got me a guest pass (i wasn't allowed to shop though). i'm telling you, i love grocery stores. d thought it was weird that i wanted to shop with him.
d & i went to coney island to ride the cyclone! it was a really rough ride. we went twice. i didn't puke.

i got to see the beach! and the ocean (not pictured).
they had a very sad ice cream dispenser - no sprinkles and no chocolate.
the next day was major high school reunion time. i'm amazed at how much fun i had with my hs friends. we haven't hung out since college all together. we got dinner together and then 4 of us (mama and baby had to go to bed) stayed out late at a diner chatting away. this is my main hs core (plus the baby, he didn't really hang with us too much back then).
august 5th:
i was so happy to meet r's baby and get to see j preggers.
bonus: this is r looking beautiful while she feeds her squirmy baby:
i spent the night at r's and the next morning played with the baby.
august 6th:
that afternoon i met l from college for lunch, met my brother after lunch then met l and her partner h pre-dinner. i had dinner with a and then a project runway party back at d&l's (with some other folks). it should have been exhausting but the whole trip was just invigorating. it was so good to be with so many dear friends.
the next day i had to leave nyc which was mighty sad. this is nj transit to new brunswick.
august 7th:
i really didn't take many photos at the conference. so, this is the next day...it rained which is noteworthy for me.
august 8th:
sorry, i'm bored by my nj photos. i actually did have a really good time especially staying and hanging with my friend, d. but i apparently wasn't moved to photograph any of the fun. the next day during a break i wandered the campus lawn.
august 9th:
after a morning of conferencing i flew back that evening. my plane was quite delayed but was smooth once we got going.
august 10th:
