It's funny, yesterday I was once again thinking about whether or not I should move back to Edmonton, but then today came and it's the nicest it's been all season and it reminds me of last year. There is a warm breeze and it's scented with flowers and it's just plain nice out. I feel like i can't inhale enough outside. Filled with some positivity I suppose. I'm sure it will drain away promptly with a week of rain or two lol.
So now that the effects from my glimpse at the social lifestyle have had time to fade a touch. First it was crack attack and then I'm installing vmware and a XP Pro virtual machine.
Despite my current distaste for things computer related, hoping to escape from the misery it's seemed to bring, at least when I focus on things other than computers, ie: having a social life spanning further than one roomate, I got an email reply from a dude who also got ripped off by Orion Holtby from back in the day. I had emailed him quite a long time ago, before i got over it. Anyways, late reply but we talked and then he was going to hook me up with a programming contract. Totally doable but I haven't programmed C++ or gui windows stuff in years. Gui programming of all types is something i haven't dove into yet. There is so much to learn when it comes to computers, you could learn forever and not know everything. I would like to get into the open source frameworks and do some apps, I was reading the other day and you can do a lot of dialogs and stuff, just from the command line. Not really even programming. I don't know where I'm going with that, but yeah. Before considering taking the opportunity upon me, I decided to check if i even had the equipment to do so. I would have liked to use visual studio, so i checked the laptop I got from my dad and started installing xp but i forgot to plug it in when i was reformatting or something. Anyways, plugging it in doesn't help. Something is fucked. It's not taking power from the plug and the battery is definitely dead. hah. So, i don't have the time to play with it. It's a piece anyways. Either way, I decided to finally try Vmware out on linux, since it's free now. I am installing xp now. We'll see how it goes.
the end.
wow that was rediculous
