I can't post a pretty multicolored entry today since LJ's rich text mode isn't working, and I don't know how to do it in HTML (dolt that I am), so this will have to do for now! I'll be glad when I can paste pics again, because I have a photo of an amazing piece of jewelry to share.
This has been one gorgeous, busy weekend. Shopping mostly, but other things as well. On Friday I took Mom shopping and out for lunch. I tried on the most fabulously beautiful coat at Dillards, and I want it badly, but at $160 bucks I can't justify it right now, since I have a brand new coat hanging in my closet. Anyway, it was 3/4 length, brocade with gorgeous ethnic-inspired embroidery all over it. Hard to describe, but trust me, it was fab. When I tried it on, it looked like it was made for me. Ahhh well, that's what I get for browsing. :)
On Saturday, Andy and I took all of the old, nasty paint off my storm door, sanded it down, and repainted it. Unfortunately, it is the wrong shade of brown so I had to go out this morning and buy another quart of the right shade and it will have to be painted over. Sheesh, you have no idea what a friggin nightmare this door has been. It's cursed, that's what it is. It's cursed and I'm trying desperately to unhex it. Maybe I should get a sage bundle and wave it around the door to cleanse it. The neighbors would probably think I've gone crazy, not that I'd care.
Also on Saturday we went to Sam's and picked up a few things, then Phil took us out to eat at Olive Garden. It was good, but I felt like a stuffed turkey afterwards. Last night I tried to watch some programs I had recorded on my DVR, but alas, the long day combined with the huge belly full of carbs made me pass out.
Right now I'm trying to decide whether I should go ahead and put away all of my summer clothes and haul out my sweaters and blazers. Despite the temperature, it's starting to feel slightly ridiculous going out the door in tropical-print skirts.
