A New Life in Colorado

I arrived in Denver, CO Tuesday--August 17th, 2010. My mom and I drove accross country cutting through the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska, on our way from New York to Colorado. It was a pleasantly uneventful trip but very, very boring. The highlight of the trip was when we stopped off of I-76 at the border of Colorado and Nebraska. There was this adorable little restaurant called "Lucy's Place." It was literally in the middle of no where. For miles either way there was nothing but barren land. Where these people came from that were in the restaurant, who knows...Surprisingly the tiny place was packed! Everyone knew everyone and everyone was over the age of 65. Anyway, if you're ever passing through stop and try the egg salad sandwich. It was made with pickles, something i had never had before but loved.

Scenic places I've gone to thus far: Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Pikes National Forrest, Manitou Springs Pike's Peak area, and the Garden of the Gods. The mountains are not surprisingly gorgeous, even though perhaps more gorgeous than I could have imagined. Seeing them in person was amazing. There aren't words to describe the beauty.

As for living here...I love it! These next two years are going to be amazing. I'm planning on starting my field placement next Monday. I'm volunteering at a horse ranch with Jo-Nelly and classes are going to be starting in September. Not to mention that I have a garden to tend to! How many apartments in the city of Denver have its own garden? Not many that's for sure but mine does. I'm so unbelievably lucky! I'm coming to love Colorado like I always thought I would. <3
