I just cannot believe how quickly this year is going. It's terrifying! I really wanted to go do my second photography assessment this weekend but I cannot for the life of me find my camera charger. So I ordered a new one, hopefully it arrives soon! This assessment is a lot better than the first one:
"Do you think you can capture the true feeling of the place where you live in a photograph? I’d like you to go out and do it! I want pictures that create a ‘sense of place’. When I look at your pictures I should know without any words from you what kind of people live there and the environment you live in. "
Definitely more challenging. I think I'll pick a town up in the mountains, it'll probably be something like a collection of:
- Pretty mountains/scenery
- Hippies
- Busy café/tourist culture
- Vintage stores
I def need to get a start on it though. Next weekend!
This weekend was pretty much devoted to researching, shopping for, and cooking paleo foods. I'm enjoying it, but I think I've spent more time in the kitchen in the last two days than the rest of the year put together! Dinners are so easy and delicious, but breakfast and lunch are more challenging to keep interesting. I've made a frittata, guacamole, salsa, baba ghanoush, and various salad/veg combinations for snacking. We bought a… thing, a chopping thing, that absolutely sucks and just smooshed the tomato into a sloppy mess instead of dicing it.
On Sunday we went to the gym and tried out this really intense routine. My glutes hurt lots today and my muscles are just getting stiffer the longer I sit at my desk. Woe. I like being able to go to the gym on a Sunday though. Feels like I’m being really healthy and making ~good decisions~
After the gym we took the doggies up to a dogwash thing. So now they smell fresh and lovely. Wesley didn't mind it too much, it was more of an annoyance than anything else 'stahp spraying me with water, I'm trying to check out that other dog over there' and Jax acted like we were torturing him. Pitiful whines and quaking limbs and big sad puppy eyes. When we were cleaning Wesley, Jax kept jumping up all concerned & kissing him on the snout. I guess just checking that he was ok? Idk. Jax is weird. They are lovely and soft and cuddly now though.
Side note: the communists finally invaded and I wish they didn't. I woke up at 4am on Saturday morning with horrible cramps and had them on and off for at least two days. So lame, I'm used to the really light ones I get on the pill. Maybe an occasional twinge and 3 days worth of inconvenience. Though, that happened every month and its been 3 months since I've had one. Not sure which is better tbh.
