So this week has been... kind of miserable, really. Work is turning into total epic fail. I mean, wtf. We lost two more people. Including the supervisor. Who apparently won't be replaced? And then another girl was bullied into quitting. I'm not sure I want to stay at this place much longer. Small business, man. You know everybody. And when someone leaves, you know exactly what impact that has. This doesn't even mention the fact that my department is entirely treated as out-of-sight-out-of-mind. So many times this week we all wandered aimlessly because we don't know what's going on--and this new boss of ourse just shoos us away without any explanations or anything. I swear to god I am going to have it out about this lack of communication bullshit. I'm tired of not knowing whether it's okay to do work or not! (Yes. This is actually happening. We are told to not do anything--then we are told to go back to regular work--then we are told to delete everything we've done the last two hours. I'm ready to choke some Germans.) The whole environment is feeling more and more unpleasant and sketchy to be in. People just stop coming to work. The above two... the supervisor WAS AT WORK on Wednesday morning, but left around the time I got in, and the manager called a big meeting to tell everyone that yes she's gone and no, really, we didn't fire her, it was totally her idea. One of my coworkers told me later that the supervisor asked her how unemployment works THAT SAME MORNING. Um. You cannot get unemployment in PA if you quit. You are only eligible for unemployment if you can prove that you lost your job through no fault of your own. Supervisor saw writing on the wall. And then the girl who was bullied into quitting, I don't know the details, but her mother works in my department and said that some of the people currently in leadership roles said a number of rude and downright cruel things to her and left her hanging out to dry when she needed help. So the girl runs out of the building upset, and I haven't seen her since; she apparently refuses to return now. I just... what do you do in a company like this? Two people fired over *allegedly" doing drugs and discussing said drug usage; one person gave her two weeks but decided to leave early on her last day because of mysterious unexplained problems; the manager is fired after the VP's business trip to our German overlords; now the superviser allegedly chooses to leave. And the bullying by so-called leaders of less experienced/younger employees. WTF. There's definitely writing on the wall, and it's telling me to GTFO before they have a chance to fire me. But not before I Have Words with the manager over this bullshit. Good god.
Anyway, yeah. That, added to the flare-up of sciatic pain, and the allergies, and the shitty weather (sometimes sunny/nice, mostly just rain) is making me a cranky Jenn. I am looking forward to sleeping in and watching some Doctor Who tomorrow. PIRATES! Total POTC ripoff, but, y'know, I don't think that's a bad thing, entirely. :D
