Worth a thousand words

Good weekend (really felt like a break, which I needed so badly after the five previous days):  socializing, beer, heated pool, more beer, nap, lazy drive thru the country with several side-trips, browsed cemetery, peered at two old abandoned houses, beer, dinner, more beer, wandering, shopping, more beer, late-night driving, good sleep, coffee, nap, quality time, soup-making, bourbon, ice cream, homemade scones, and... a dreadful two-hour commute on Monday morning.  (Assume six or more redactions of additional events in above schedule ;-).

And today saw some nail-biting and obsessive checking of the news from Tech, but I have word from both family members at the U that they are home safe.

Wandered Howard Chapel Road Cemetery, a historic site of that community's black founders, located on scenic road in Montgomery County:

My initials on a plain little stone -- just what I'd want.

Another simple resting place.

A fragment of a patterned glass cruet, nestled in the hollow of a tree.  How does something this perfect happen?

Enjoyed the shops, restaurants and pubs of downtown Frederick -- worth a trip, for sure.  Here's a bad picture of a good sculpture in the window of a bike shop.  Wish it was plain that the pot belly was really a pot, and the underarm hair is provided by a scrub brush, and so on and so forth.
