I have only recently discovered Hedi Slimane's photography blog, called Hedi Slimane's Diary. Formerly head designer for Dior Hommes, Slimane quit the fashion industry, hooked up with pals such as Gus Van Sant, moved to the US, and is now a full-time photographer. The photographs that caught my attention are portraits of well-known and unknown sitters: Bryan Ferry, Jethro Cave (Nick Cave's enstranged Australian son), Beck, et cetera. I enjoy the almost old-school sense of tonal value and use of available natural light in the range of images.
