I just got back from a book-selling event. My friends filmed some footage & interviews for their cable access/internet show-- it's amazing how you can get away with saying ridiculous things to people, going into off-limits areas, and cutting in lines just because you're with someone holding an Important-Looking Camera. Not that we acted like jackasses or anything.
So I now have The Book. I think I've gotten this far spoiler-free. One of the people I was with tonight loves knowing spoilers, so every time he'd get too excited and start to give something away, my other friend kindly interrupted him and changed the topic of conversation. So instead, we talked about our favorite dinosaurs. We discussed leprosy repeatedly. At this event, there was a large banner where kids could write and sign their names, and on it in huge letters someone wrote "(CERTAIN CHARACTER NAME) DIES." I'm choosing not to believe it. Only time will tell if this was an actual spoiler.

I'm almost afraid to start reading the book. (The sooner I'll start it, the sooner it will end.)
