Today, I locked my keys in my truck. I was ready to go after teaching two classes and a private lesson, but alas, it was not in the cards. The day was not ruined- this was the best possible thing to happen to me.
While waiting for AAA, I waited inside where it was a bit warmer, and a group of dogs walked in. I asked the trainer if she needed help running the class- so I got to stay and help teach a class of Aggressive dogs.
The owner of a 115 pound Rottweiller (who had a head the width of my hips and was as tall as my waist) was a tall, strong man. I am not very equipped to handle a 110 pound Tiger...er, dog. After class, he asked the instructor if I would be coming back to help. Why?
"She is the only one that he warms up to and can handle this dog other than me".
I'm not a big person, and I don't understand why I could handle this dog- it just sort of happened. It was quite incredible, and rather ego inflating. He easily could have dragged me to the other dogs like a kid carries a limp blanket- but he didn't.
So now I'm working in the Aggressive Dogs class as a trainer. The other trainer? She needs Puppy experience, and I have too many dogs in my puppy class. So we're going to co-train and help each other in class for the experience and call it good.
I'm stoked!
