Faceup Commissions: Leeke Romeo, Soom Ai, Dollzone Kimi
Despite not posting a lot I've been quite the busy bee as of late. This is just the first post in one of probably multiple I might be spamming up your flist pages with either today or throughout my three day weekend. Mainly I'm just taking the time during and between soccer games. I have been enjoying what I've been able to watch of the World Cup this year. At first when there were really early games coming on at 6:30am my time I woke up early to watch 1 game a day before work. As things have progressed on everything that is not on the weekend is in the middle of my work day and I find no point in watching a recorded sports game, so I get to watch very little as we get towards the end and I'm very selfish about my soccer time. All my teams are out (Japan, South Korea, England) so now I'm trying to find who to root for and after this morning's game I say Germany. Now that L's team (Brazil) is out that is who he want to see win and and really those guys are just damn fun to watch so GO GERMANY!
But I assume now that I have bored you with a length comment about soccer, especially if it is not something that you care for. I'm assuming you're still reading becuase you might possibly want to see my current faceup and aesthetic work that the title sort of insinuates I will be showing you
Leekeworld Romeo for phi-san:
This is the second time now I have actually painted this head. He's phi's first doll and his first face was starting to show some wear from how much she loves on him (can't blame her he's a sexy man doll). She made me paint his lashes. It's something I'm slowly working toward and still in practice trial and error stages, but she demanded it so this is the first time doing it for real. I still feel the need to perfect my skill a bit more but I do like how they really just pop, which worked perfectly for the human makeup it was based after
SOOM Ai for anchor_and_rose
Ed came to visit for the weekend. This is now the second Ai I have painted that is not mine. Poor little Edo ha ha. This sort of came off the fly, Ed's the sort of person who knows what color scheme she wants but not so much of any details when it comes to a dolls face. I'm not sure myself yet whether I enjoy doing faceups with more or less direction. I curse myself that I did not get the most fabulous pics of her faceup, so one face pic and one of the hooves. I think they turned out really cute.
Dollzone Kimi for equine_aurora
This was a fun super pinky girl! She's really cute I'd never seen the sculpt in person before, but I always seem to fall in love with dollzones more in person than ever in pictures. For this face I was given direction that she wanted something with the general color and feel of the original default face, but that she wanted pink eyebrows and lashes to match with pink wigs. I feel like she's very light and subtle and I wish I had a better camera and lighting (what is lighting, we've only had clouds all bloody week here) to capture it better than I was able to. Also thanks to this faceup I finally after so long got the hang for the cutsie criss cross girly underlashes (I feel kinda dumb for as long as I've wanted to do them and never seemed to get it until now).
Next on my list is an IH Tedros for Kyrenea followed by a couple of faceups on some of my actual doll family. Finally after almost 2 years I'm going to repaint Waka (yosd kun), Wataru (msd rock) took a beating in my bag at A-kon, and Koro (cp shine) is gonna get a snazzy new face with an even cooler scar. But first all this crazy (unnatural?) rain needs to move out of Dallas.
