And when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept... for there were no more worlds to conquer.
Update time!
The concert was as much fun if not more fun than the first. In spite of having incredibly little time to practice because our studio guy wasn't properly set up, everything came together at the last minute and we kicked ass. Of the three bands that were there, we drew the largest crowd of all, including the most established one who has actually toured with KMFDM before. People were dancing, the other bands were yelling at us "Fragmentation has some hot beats!" (haha), and in general it was a great show. Plus...it was our first paid concert. We got the whopping sum of $20 to split between us and our two sound guys. Still, it was pay, and we got our share of the door fees, which were rather meager. From our last concert, we took home the severed plugs from the ends of our speaker cables which we had to jury-rig to the amp; from this one, Chris and I will be tearing that $10 in half and framing it.
We debuted three new songs that night; the one that made the biggest hit was our slowest song, Perception Is Reality. While I've never been one to follow popular suggestion--I much prefer to express myself the way I want to, rather than do what's "popular"--it's something to think about.
Since then I have been relaxing hardcore. Next week is the VNV Nation concert on Wednesday; we're taking that week off from music to recharge, and then the following week we get started anew with fresh material! (Chris and I groan every time we see that damn blank Reason 3.0 rack because it's the beginning of a long journey.) Sometime in early May is the Front Line Assembly concert, and then sometime over the summer we may end up going on tour with Cobalt Core, which would be pretty damn cool.
