Seven days till the concert.
My glasses broke today. I was trying to adjust one of the nosepads, and the part called the "eyewire" snapped off where the temple meets the main frame. I was able to tape it temporarily until I was off and could go see my eye doctor.
So now I'm in contacts again, cursing them, even as my own eyes curse me back for subjecting them to this.
I have a pair of temporary glasses that my lenses sort of fit in. The problem is, my glasses have a two year warranty, but they're discontinued. Meaning the only pairs they can immediately find are "copper" colored. Yeah, I'm going to look good in glasses that are a reddish-gold color. Wonderful. They're trying to find a pair of the dark brown ones I was wearing, but who knows if that's going to pan out? Sigh. At least my eye doctor has always been intent on bending over backwards to fix stuff that goes wrong. It's what keeps me coming back.
The good news is, I did find a bunch of frames I liked there, if I need to get a new set, and they all come with clip-on sunglasses (which are essential to me).
We were supposed to work on music tonight, but Chris's brother Herman left for India today, to live there on a permanent basis; what with getting several inches of snow today, he wasn't sure if the flight would be delayed, so they hung out at the airport for Herm's last few hours in the country. I can't imagine what things would be like for me if my brother left to go live in another country. I think I'd be a wreck.
Work is still a mess. The new program we're using has changed the workload from annoying to unmanageable. It's so inefficient, every time I use it to work on a case it pisses me off just a little bit more. How could they think this piece of crap was a good idea to unleash on us? Ugh.
